Corporate obedience of the Lubavitcher Rebbe

P1040413, originally uploaded by Jose's Pictures.

On the subject of Nosi Hador or the ‘king of our generation’. Let’s presume, for the sake of the argument, that Rayatz was in deed the CEO of the generation. If CEO tells not to go to college you would listen? If CEO gives you an opportunity to be close to him in his headquarters, you would? If CEO wants you to be by his side on his trip to Israel you would follow. Instead the Rebbe followed his own track despite Rayazt. Later he became a chossid, perhaps as a career move. Inventing the title of Nosi gave him the license to humbly speak in the name of the highest office, while in fact his own record of corporate obedience is spotty at best.
