Chassidic perversion of the Kabbalsitic ideal
When Moses De Leon wrote Zohar he was obsessed with the central human problem. Are our emotions real, what happens to the love we know in our hearts after we pass? In the most heroic poetry known to man Moses De Leon declared that our feelings and emotions are as real as the steps on this earth. To illustrate the tangible love he invented the metaphor of zivvug that bears the real fruits of life. Overlooking the hills of Guadalajara Moses De Leon visualized and immortalized his thoughts, his love and his emotions. He made love to the tonality and music and to the uplifts of his heart.
Fast forward to the decaying Chassidism of 20 years ago. The values of emotional connections and love gave way to the transactional relationship between people, the cursed salesmen of the creed and the dollar bills shoved in your face as a substitute for human interaction. Paralyzing dark numbness that believes only in robotic and flesh.
