The bohemian Yossel Piekarski

Yossel is starring in "Waiting for Woody Allen, a parody of Samuel Beckett's classic, Waiting for Godot, is a tragic comedy about two quarrelsome Hasidic men, Mendel and Yossel. Disillusioned with religion, therapy and their own friendship, they wait on a bench in Central Park for Woody Allen to come and give meaning to their lives."

He is also an audio guide on Soundwalk. Soundwalk's New York tours are part of a phenomenon: In the digital age, everyone's a tour guide. Professionals and amateurs alike want to show you around neighborhoods, museums and historic sites around the world. Whether you download them to your Nano, connect via cellphone or load a CD into your Discman, the experience is the same: Hit "play" or the "call" button at a designated spot, go where you're told, and allow a local expert to turn your walk into a narrated tour. Yossel is narrating Lower East Side and Williamsburg tours. There is also a Williamsburg Women tour narrated by Pearl Gluck, acclaimed director of Divan. (via xlubi)
