Boruch: "Isn't it high time for like minded individuals to break off from contemporarily Lubavitch and start a new/old Chabad stream?"
Take a walk around the block before you answer please...
UPDATE, Schneur Zalman of NY writes:
I feel I can retire now. I can devote myself to new issues perhaps reviving Kopust or Bobroisk ... Everything I have been hocking, writing and saying for the last 10 years or more is here. You may wish to megale tefach, and mechase tefochaim ... kol hakavod.
There is no reason to besmirch anyone in the history of Chabad. Ideas and concepts are what counts. So as the Rebbe said, I can paraphrase, the work is yours kinderlech, choose carefully, and act in a speedy manner.
Stress should be on spirituality, on learning on preserving the White Russian nature of Chabad, on maintaining the unique learning of Chabad yet not distancing this community from Klal Israel and Shomrei Emunim. No need to make Chabad into Belz or Skver it must remain "open" yet not too open; it must be moderate in its position to the world as it was in the days of the Rayaatz. Midos - arbeten af ZICH is of the essence!
The new Old Chabad needs leadership. It needs this more than any other factor. It should be a Schneerson. Perhaps someone ought to speak with the Tchebiner family. So I wish the real Lubavitcher well in their efforts to recapture Chassiduth from the usurpers.
Just a note there is nothing wrong in Lubavitch being proud of its White Russian roots. That does not mean that other Jews with a different background can not join Chabad, but the way of doing things has to remain the derech of Chabad, the levush, the language, the derech halimmud, etc. All of these need to be rooted in the derech of Reisin. No Lubavitcher needs to apologize to a Jew from Marmorash, Minkatz or Miskolc for being from Minsk or Vitebsk. Mir zaynen azelche shayne leit vir ihr zait."
