Support Shochtim!

My friends is a shochet in Argentina and he schechts for everyone. The only thing that changes is the mashgiach. When you eat Belz you eat his schita when you eat Rabbanut it's also his schita etc... He made a CD of his work in Argentina for the family to see. He does 8-10,000 chickens a day or 60-80 cows. He ain't hiding anything and he knows what he is doing. I'll let PETA and OU fight it out and continue eating Rubashkins' for the time being.
My friend's working conditions in Argentina are pretty brutal and after a 10 hour day he needs a chisuk. Now, what truly is amazing is that nobody talks about the brutallity of a shochets' life in the 21 century. Instead they worry about schita which is probably better and more kosher than we ever had in our history. I know an erlicher yungerman who became a computer programmer and then an insurance agent after being a shochet because he could not take the separation from his family. He really wanted to be a shochet.
